Jutta Mata received a Master’s in Psychology in 2004 from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. She then became a doctoral research fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin and received her PhD in Psychology in January 2008. Afterwards, Jutta did a postdoctoral fellowship at the Technical University Lisbon, Portugal. During her post-doctoral fellowship at Stanford Jutta continues her research on health behavior, particularly exercise and nutrition and its effect on emotion regulation. She is interested in gene-environment interactions, studying the protective role of health behaviors in individuals with genetic risk for depression and motivational factors underlying (multiple) health behavior change. |
