Alex Seungmo Han

B.A. Cornell University, Biological Sciences and Statistical Science.

Alex’s research is focused on the evolutionary history and diversity of HLA system in humans and MHC in nonhuman primates. He received his Bachelor of Arts with a double major in Biological Science and Statistical Sciences from Cornell University, where he studied population genetics with Dr. Charles Aquadro. At Cornell, his work with Drosophila and their bacterial symbiont Wolbachia developed his interest in host-pathogen coevolution. He is currently a graduate student working towards a PhD in Genetics. He is jointly advised by both Dr. Peter Parham and Dr. Carlos Bustamante.
