Body/Abdominal Imaging Radiologist

The Department of Radiology at Stanford School of Medicine is searching for a full-time radiologist in Body/Abdominal Imaging. This faculty appointment would be either in the University Tenure Line or in the Medical Center Line at the Assistant, Associate, or full Professor level. The predominant criteria for appointment for faculty in the University Tenure Line is a major commitment to research and teaching, as well as excellence in clinical care and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. The major criteria for appointment for faculty in the Medical Center Line is excellence in the overall mix of clinical care, teaching, scholarly activity that advances clinical medicine, and institutional service appropriate to the programmatic need the individual is expected to fulfill. Faculty rank will be determined by the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate.

Responsibilities of the new faculty will include clinical interpretation of body CT, MRI, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy/plain film exams, participation in the on call service of the Department, education of medical students, residents and body fellows, as well as a significant research commitment. The Department of Radiology at Stanford is currently expanding, with significant growth in both the clinical divisions and translational sciences. Exceptional research opportunities exist within the Department, the School of Medicine, and the University. Research will also be facilitated by an actively expanding clinical program with the imminent opening of several new out-patient imaging centers with the latest generation equipment and the construction of two new hospitals on campus.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated exceptional qualities and promise as an outstanding researcher, clinician, and teacher. Candidates should have an MD or MD/PhD degree(s), must be board-certified in diagnostic radiology or equivalent training, have completed a formal fellowship in body imaging, and have shown an outstanding track record of research productivity. Research can include all aspects of body imaging, including clinical, translational, or basic science, as well as computational science.
