Stanford Center for the Study of Poverty and Inequality

Welcome to the future home of

We are developing a new website that will become a comprehensive clearinghouse on poverty and inequality trends. It will feature a customizable graphing utility that will allow users (a) to explore how trends in various poverty and inequality outcomes vary by subgroups (e.g., racial groups, age groups, educational groups, gender) and (b) to combine different time series in a single graph. The resulting graphs may also be downloaded as a pdf or jpeg file and the associated data may additionally be ported into an EXCEL or ASCII file for further analysis. We'll be introducing the new site with great fanfare!

Go to for a related site that explores how poverty, inequality, and other labor market outcomes have changed in the recession and its aftermath.
