Sukey Bryan: Glacial Visions

Over the last twenty years, Sukey Bryan has painted the natural elements. Ocean, wildfire, plant life, rain, and most recently, this exquisite collection of paintings, monotypes, and etchings inspired by an artist residency in Denali National Park and Preserve in Alaska. For ten days, Bryan lived and worked alone in the park sketching, painting, and photographing the area around her cabin. She also spent five days in Prince William Sound closely observing glacier ice formations. Her brief residency has inspired over 85 pieces in the five years since her 2008 visit to Alaska.
