Hello! Welcome to the Stanford Farmers club website. We are happy that you are interested in getting involved with seminars, volunteering/field-work, and social activities at the Stanford O’Donohue Farm.
For the most timely updates & notifications on our upcoming events, please visit/follow our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/StanfordFarmers/
See our blog posts below to explore past & upcoming events.
As a brief overview, we are a student-led organization founded in 2017 that collaborates closely with the Stanford Farm’s visionary leader Dr. Patrick Archie & head coordinator Jessica Gonzales to create an array of activities for students, university affiliates, and the general local community. Previous events have included “Weeding and Wellness,” “Mushroom Log Exploration,” and a more informal “Get to Know the Farm” student luncheon.
We also have open drop-in volunteering hours from 8:30 to 11 AM every Tuesday and Thusday, and from 9:30 AM to 4 PM every Saturday. These provide an informal, fun, and engaging way to get your hands in the dirt! These triweekly workdays are open to everybody–regardless of previous agriculture/gardening experience, whether it is late in the quarter/school-year, or if you don’t know any other farm volunteers, please feel free to head on over! Just remember to bring some work clothes (i.e. clothes you are okay with getting dirty), close-toed shoes, and a smile. We will provide the gloves/tools and an inclusive, collaborative farming environment.
Note: For groups of more than 5 who want to volunteer, we ask that you contact us first (see our “Contact Us” page) for logistic reasons.
