Many confuse
Cooper's and Sharp-shinned Hawks in flight. While
gliding the larger, thicker-legged Cooper's juts
its head far in front of the wrists, holds the
wings level and cocks the wrists forward. While
soaring its wings often assume a slight dihedrial,
with the leading edges straight. Its flight is
stiff, the wingbeats strong.
