COMMUNITY RHETORICS: Writing from the Inside
Portfolio Cover Letter and Section Introductions
Your complete writing portfolio for the class is due at my office by 12 noon on Wednesday, December 11. Preparing to submit your portfolio will include composing your final writing for the class:
The Portfolio Cover Letter:
In a cover letter, addressed to me, please introduce your quarter's work and assess your overall progress this quarter as a critical thinker, researcher, writer.
Consider the letter of introduction that you wrote to me at the beginning of the quarter. In it, you related some of your feelings about your own writing, reflected on relative strengths and weaknesses that you perceived in it, and expressed some goals for the quarter. How far and in what direction has the quarter brought you in achieving your goals? Are your goals even the same now, ten or eleven week later?
Section Introductions:
Briefly (that is, a paragraph or two) but specifically, reflect on your experience with and what you have learned in relation to each major assignment of the quarter. These introductions should precede sections containing the Walking Meditation, the Leap-of-Faith essay, the research paper, and the oral presentation.
I look forwarded to reading over all of your "collected works"! Remember, the portfolio as a whole, and each section of it, is not only about the finished, most polished products that it contains; it is about the process of getting there.
