Quarter or Semester/Year: Winter 2003

Briefly describe the kind of speaking project on which you and your collaborator(s) will be working (i.e. leading a discussion group at your agency, giving a presentation in the community, producing a video project that will be presented to an audience).

What is the rhetorical setting for your speang project? Who is your audience? What is your purpose? What outcome do you expect or desire? What special considerations might you need to think about in relation to your audience? What are their particular needs and expectations? (I.E is your audience a group of senior citizens? young children? people whose first language is not English?)

How long will your presentation/media piece be? Will you need visuals such as posters, overheads, or videos?

How will you get all of the information and support (perhaps technical) that you need? How often will you work with the Oral Communications Consultant at the Speaking Center at the Center for Teaching and Learning? How much time will you need to spend at the agency working with your mentor or other people at the agency or in the community preparing? How much time will you have to speand with your peer cololaborator(s) preparing?
