Homework: 

1) Read Williams Lessons 5 & 6. Write 5.1 (2);  Williams 6: 6.1 (4, 6)

2) Review your video and look for specific areas to improve. In addition, you may include parts of a current piece of writing for our weekly meeting--submit it the night before.

3) Finding presentation techniques to copy: do the following.

1) Find an example of a speaker online (https://www.ted.com/https://ecorner.stanford.edu; other) who has one or more characteristics you would like to incorporate into your own speaking.

2) Come prepared next week to present and discuss your example briefly, explaining the element(s) that you find worthy of emulating (send me the URL of the clip by Monday at 8:00 pm). Phil's examplehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLkC7ralR30

3) Then, take a 2 minute selection from any previous or future talk in which you demonstrate one or two techniques or stylistic points picked up from that speaker.

5) Bring in three printouts of an abstract you have written or rewritten to the next class for peer review.
