Productivity of CALL for SLA

Background: 

Research question:  Some further discussion and research concerning the productivity of using CALL for 2nd language acquisition would be quite appropriate.

Suggested methodology/comments:    Because of the atrocious competence and communicative abilities that so many students arrive at in learning through the so-called communicative approach – although the approach perhaps is incorrectly conceived if correction and ultimate “mastering” of language structures is ignored – I firmly believe that along with contextualized content also practice and mastery of “correct” language structures is required.  The media other than printed text can productively well be used to improve and further the learning processes.  That is where instructional technology (a different IT from information technology) can be implemented with superior effects.
