I heavily debated between the two song choices but ultimately went with Bye Bye Blues because I liked the upbeat and vivacious tone it had. But when listening to it at first I had no idea where to start. It definitely reminded me of the hustle and bustle of a city so I knew I wanted to incorporate that. Especially the sounds where the train comes or the elevator button dings. I just went with the visuals that the sounds reminded me of which is pretty straightforward. But it helped me come up with the intro part of being in an office space. And since I knew that the song gets more upbeat and lively with time, I thought it would be interesting to start off with a feeling of a "boring life." And then transition into the true meaning of life or living a fulfilling life.
When it comes to editing I tried my best to do transitions where something from one video carried into the next. For example, the train doors transitioning into the elevator, or the taxi cab transitioning into the musician. I also tried to do some of the sound transitions, where a sound from the next scene starts before and carries over. I did this with the keyboard sounds. But the original sound I wanted cost money so I had to use the default one that didn't carry over as well. I also tried to use some of the filters to transition but I personally don't like how those very much. I have a lot of flashing in and out between black and image because I wanted it to be similar to flashes or realizations almost. I also decided to take the color out of the beginning and bring it back when my "character" had the realization that they wanted to live a life full of color. Overall, I think I could have had more interesting transitions but I also liked how sporadicly the images came in, because it kinda felt like life or a documentary film.
