Digital Bibliography
One of the strengths of this paper is that so long as the information providers maintain their sites, this paper will continually be refreshed. However, the paper will not be able to "find" sites that did not yet exist when it was "published" (May 14, 1995). Therefore, in addition to a listing of many of the sites included in this paper, I offer some "updating" resources.
Updating Resources
- Yahoo - The premier hierarchical organizer of the Web.
- Search Engines
- InfoSeek - A reasonable powerful search regime, with an optional commercial "enhancement."
- WebCrawler - An excellent complement, from the University of Washington.
- Lycos - A service of Carnegie Mellon, it uses a slightly different methodology and returns more verbose responses. I have set the default to use the "smaller" (half a million page) database, rather than the full 3.8 million document database, in order to optimize search time.
