Below are set of links that will help you explore some of the principal movements and artists of the 20th century art.  After you begin your research in earnest, you will for the most part be using resources of the Stanford Libraries, which provide searches and materials necessary to your research and unavailable on the Web. An easy way to access the library resources you will need is to use the PWR Library Research Page.

The Museum of Modern Art (MOMA)
(A huge collection of 20th century art online, plus substantial resources in the education section)

The Whitney Museum of American Art
(Especially strong in mid-century and contemporary art, see especially the decade-by-decade exhibition and new photography)
