About me

You found my website! I’m David, and I’m currently a quant researcher in NYC. I was previously at Stanford University, where I did a MS CS and BS Mathematics.

On this site, I write about interesting math things (in the blog section) and host some of my old projects and training materials (from back when I was a Math Olympiad coach).

I run a discord server for ex-IMO contestants from Singapore (please reach out if you qualify!), and together we write a math blog here. It’s been going on weekly for about a year, and I’m extremely proud of the quality of the content we’ve put out.

I’m interested in many topics, including:

• algebraic geometry (and its curious applications to Euclidean geometry)
• learning theory (including machine learning)
• probability and (high-dimensional) statistics
• statistical physics
• optimization
• randomized algorithms

I love simple hard problems, as well as unexpected applications of theory.
