Dec 2-3 2006 - Yosemite with Durbs and Kerzhner
Valley was warm (during the day) and dry and empty. Other than a wayward Ron Kauk at the Cookie, we were the only folks we saw climbing.
Saturday: Durbs spent his work week apparently ensconsed in some slab hardman threads on Supertopo, so on Saturday it was decided we try "The Rambler" on Arches Terrace. Conclusion: hard slab climbing is hard, an "R" rating in fact signifies a runout route, and Dan should spend less time on Supertopo. We got up three pitches, with Dan and Mike doing most (all) of the leading after I chickened out on p2. Pics:

Sunday, we got the crack of 11am start, and headed to the Cookie. Dan leading Catchy:

Mike on Waverly:

Then I had a go at Butterballs, and didn't get it. Then Dan had a go at Butterballs, and didn't get it. And then it was dark - another burly 3-pitch day. Next week: Nose in a day. Butterballs pics:
