· Vs. Saratoga 10/28

· Varsity won 7—6

· After celebrating our Seniors, the Boys Varsity water polo played the best game of the year with a 4th quarter comeback.

· After a slow offensive start, the teams unrelenting defense held the Falcons to 5-3 starting the last quarter.

· Senior Shayan Ebrahimian stepped up and scored 2 of his 3 goals to go ahead for the win. 

· Paul Maier and senior Amir Levine added one goal.

· Junior Davis Horeff started the rally scoring in the 3rd & 4th periods.

· Great defense by Kyle Lawrence, Thibault Vanatalon, Brandon Stone, Josh Padilla and Jose Camacho kept this game close

· the outstanding goal keeping from Chance Dougherty made it winnable.

· Congratulations Seniors!

· Vs Monta Vista 10/23

· Varisity lost 12-21

· played at Monta Vista HS with packed stands for their teams senior appreciation day.

· Both teams came out shooting to make it the highest scoring game of the season.

· Thibaut Vantalon had his best offensive game of the season with 5 goals.

· Davis Horeff scored 3.

· Shayan Ebrahimian, Amir Levine, Kyle Lawrence and Alex Zeren adding one goal apiece

· The Boys Varsity water polo plays in a tournament today at Monta Vista 5:30.

· JV lost

· The Mustangs dropped the season series to the host Monta Vista Matadors on Thursday night.

· Zach Birrer scored all of Homestead's goals

· The boys will try to sweep the season series from Saratoga next Tuesday at 4:45.  This is the final home game of the season so please come out and cheer for victory

· Varsity won 17-14

· A balanced attach had 7 players scoring

· Vs. Gunn on 10/16

· Frosh/Soph took a 3—11 loss

· The Mustangs had a difficult time with the superior numbers of the Gunn squad but didn't give up. 

· Thor Mortenson continued to shine this week with his first goal of the season along with Cole Brower and Trevor Carpenter chipping in one goal apiece. 

· Ryan Wu and Alex Tsobanoudis saw extensive playing time and worked hard on the defensive end.

· Varsity lost 7—16

· A strong defensive effort by Kyle lawrence, Paul Maier and Alex Zeren held them to 5 goals in the first half, the lowest of the year.

· Homestead offense was fueled by 5 goals by Junior Davis Horeff with Amir Levine and Thibault Vantalon adding one.

· Vs. Los Altos

· Varsity lost 8—9

· In the closest game of the year, against Los Altos, the boys varsity water polo lost by a goal.  With seconds left in the fourth quarter Homestead had a man up advantage but just missed the tying score. 

· A strong team defense was lead by Kyle Lawrence, Paul Maier, Shayan Ebrahimian 

· Outstanding goaltending by Chance Dougherty.

· Davis Horeff, Amir Levine and Thibaut Vantalon all contributed to the exciting game.

· Frosh/Soph lost 5—6

· The Mustangs shut home team Los Altos down in the 2nd half and had a chance to send the game into overtime but eventually fell 6 - 5 in regulation in the Mustangs closest game of the season.

· A key steal by Thor Mortensen, outstanding goal-tending from Jack Gregov, and 4 2nd-half goals by Trevor Carpenter allowed Homestead to overcome a 6 to 0 first half deficit and take possession twice with under :30 seconds remaining and a chance to tie.  But it was not to be.

· Zach Birrer scored one goal and Taylor Pomeroy, David Gallagher, and Cole Brower settled down in the 2nd half and played solid defense keeping Los Altos off the scoreboard and nearly avenging an earlier 7 to 0 defeat to the Eagles.

· Varsity vs. Saratoga

· In another close game, the Mustangs lost to Saratoga on their turf 9-6. 

· The outstanding play by senior Chance Dougherty, recovering from illness, blocked 50% of the shots on goal including 5 meter free penalty shot.

· The Falcons pulled away in the 3rd, despite the great defense of Paul Maier's 3 steals & Davis Horeff & Kyle Lawrence with 2 steals each.

· Our offense was fueled by aggressive play from Paul Maier, Amir Levine and Captain Davis Horeff with 2 goals each.

· Frosh/Soph Win 10—4

· Frosh/Soph vs. Monta Vista—L: 4—9

· The Frosh-Soph boys played their most complete game of the season against Monta Vista on Tuesday.  Trevor Carpenter scored twice and David Gallagher and Jack Gregov scored once apiece. 

· The Mustangs held an opponent to single-digit scoring for the first time this season with stout defense led by Alex Tsobanoudis, Zach Birrer and Taylor Pomeroy.

· Vs. Gunn on 09/23

· JV took a 5—14 defeat

· Leading the Mustang scoring was freshman Zach Birrer with 4 goals and sophomore Trevor Carpenter with one goal. 

· Once again sophomore Jack Gregov frustrated the opposing team with his goalie work.

· Cole Brower, Taylor Pomeroy, Thor Mortenson, and Alex Tsobanoudis played solid defense holding Gunn under their scoring average.

· Frosh/Soph lost a hard battle 0—7 against Los Altos

· Excellent defense is becoming a hallmark for Co-Team Captains Trevor Carpenter and Jack Gregov--an early candidate for Goalie Of The Year. 

· Strong defense was also shown by Cole Brower and newcomers Taylor Pomeroy, Zach Birrer, and David Gallagher. 

· Encouraging offensive efforts came from Marco Maletis, David Pilip, and Carpenter.

· Varsity defeated by Los Altos

· Homestead's varsity water polo captains, Davis Horeff and Amir Levine, lead the team in goals and steals in a physical and close game.

· League rivals Los Altos endured the hard nosed defense of Thibaut Vantalon, Ankank Patil and Jose Camacho but out lasted the mustangs for a win.

· Contributions from Shayan Ebrahimian, Paul Maier, Tyler Hansen and freshman Alex Zeren rounded out a gutty performance.

· Frosh/Soph were defeated 0—13

· Goalie Jack Gregov (10), team captain, blocked over a dozen point-blank shots and also denied a 5-meter penalty shot.

· Varsity were also defeated

· Great efforts by Chance Dougherty, Amir Levine, Kyle Lawrence, Davis Horeff and Miles Crawford.

· Defensive performances were lead by Paul Maier, Brandon Stone and Alex Zeren.

· Completed Athletic/Activity Package—you may not participate if this is not completed
