portraits of resilience

I'm admittedly afraid to use the term resilience when I write. It's a loaded term with countless definitions, interpretations, and measurements. I am additionally a visual learner, so I have set out to define resilience in a way which resonates with me: through pictures. I try to take pictures of resilience as seen through my eyes. I intend to keep the good ones here.

This picture was take around Thanksgiving, 2018 at Wrightsville Beach, NC. It embodies a spirit common among many who live close to the beach of collegial rivarly with hurricanes. They view the hurricane as a cheeky neighbor or a cross-town rival. These are the people who sit on the shore as the storm arrives and simply say bring it on.
