Tandem Cycling with Rob

I started riding tandems April 10, 1994, and I've been bitten relatively hard by the tandem bug.

The photo above was taken during the 1994 Santana West Coast Tandem Rally. My intrepid stoker and I are descending Pecho Road in Montana De Oro State Park, south of Morro Bay, California. You can almost make out the fog bank that chased us inland on the return trip up the hill.

The tandem we're riding is a 1993 Santana Visa , purchased new in March '94 from Bill McCready himself (Bill is the president and founder of Santana Cycles, Inc. ). Bill was doing tandem demo rides as part of the grand re-opening of Cupertino Bike Shop.

Since November 1994 I've been riding a bright yellow 1995 Santana Noventa.

See you on the road!
