Miss Rosemary Faith Rogers and Dr. Richard Michael Bodor were united in marriage April 18, 1998 at 5 p.m. at Stanford Memorial Church, in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. Reverend Robert Gregg, Dean of the Chapel, officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Colonel and Mrs. Harry F. Rogers of Rollingwood. The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Edward E. Bodor of Houston.
Maids of honor were Rosanne Rogers of Westlake and Roshay Rogers of Mobile, AL, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids were Dr. Suzanne Bodor of Dallas, sister of the groom, and Nadine Apperson of Mission Viejo, CA, friend of the bride.
The best man was Larry Craft of Houston, childhood friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Dave Sims of Chicago, Pat Nitsch of McAllen, and Walter Gossage of Dallas, all friends of the groom.
The double ring ceremony was conducted in the Stanford Memorial Church on the Stanford campus. The ceremony included lighting of the unity candle tapers by the fathers of the bride and groom and two readings performed by friends of the bride, Minerva Chiu Martinez and Jo Scribner, both of Austin. Organ music was conducted on the grand pipe organ by Dr. Robert Bates of Stanford. Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held on campus at the Tresidder Union Oak Room.
The bride wore a Sweetheart designed gown of white Italian satin beaded with seed pearls and scattered iridescent sequins. The sheath style gown featured a basque waist and off-the-shoulder juliet sleeves with a chapel length train that was bustled after the ceremony. Her tulle veil was fingertip length with a pearl and crystal headpiece.
The bridesmaids were lovely in pale pink satin A-line long gowns with criss-cross straps accenting the low backs. Opera length white gloves complemented their springtime ensemble. Pink roses of varying shades accented their gowns and matched the paler pink and ivory roses in the bride's bouquet. The bride also carried pale pink lilacs and sweetpeas, with cymbidium orchids and ivy trailing in the bouquet.
Following the wedding celebration, the couple departed for Oahu and Maui, Hawaii for their honeymoon.
The bride is a graduate of Westlake high school in Austin and honor graduate of the University of Texas, Austin with a Bachelors of Business Administration and a Masters of Business Administration. She is employed by Stanford University as a web designer and administrator to the History and Philosophy of Science Program. The groom is a graduate of Spring Branch High of Houston, Stanford University, and Baylor College of Medicine. The couple are now residing in California while Rick completes his last year of residency in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of California, San Diego. They plan to return to Texas next summer.
