Shi Dong (董仕)

Shi Dong

Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University, admitted in 2016.

Advisor: Prof. Benjamin Van Roy.

I am on the 2021-2022 academic job market.

I used to study in the field of nanoelectronics and photonics, and was fortunately advised by Prof. Zhiping Yu and Prof. Jonathan Fan. Driven by keen enthusiasm for mathematics, I started working with Prof. Benjamin Van Roy since Spring 2017 and I am currently dedicated to understanding reinforcement learning (RL) from a theoretical perspective. I am interested in using mathematical tools to develop intuitions for the essential ingredients in agent design, and bridging the gap between RL theory and practice. I am also a zealous fan of British and European history.
