A sound/text 'poem' made on GarageBand using recorded interviews

For this project, I recorded six of my friends around campus, asking each of them the question: "What’s one thing you miss most about home?" I chose to use GarageBand as my editing software, as I’m most familiar with its audio editing tools and interface.
Most of the responses I received focused on people — with common answers including “my family,” “my friends,” or “the people.” These recurring themes informed the central focus of my piece, both lyrically and emotionally.
I then roughly sketched out a draft structure and section ideas on paper. The final piece evolved into something more ambient and soundscape-like. I intentionally kept the musical elements — such as melodies and textures — minimalistic and repetitive, aiming to create an atmosphere that supports, rather than distracts from, the recordings. I then used automation and panning on GarageBand to play with space and reverb a bit more.
