Project 2 Process

The inspiration for this audio is from Cthulhu art. Usually, Cthulhu theme works are good at combining words with melody, but this is not the direct reason that I decided to make this project. The direct reason is my ride toward the dorm last Thursday night. The surrounding is very quiet and cold, making me feel like being submerged in cold water, and I clearly heard the sounds made by bicycle. These sounds are so vivid that I can depict subtle changes in my bike even after closing my eyes. Then the idea, of using sounds to narrate a story about Cthulhu and bike, suddenly came to my mind.

The story is my dream about Cthulhu, being captured by the inevitable summon, then riding the bike to the sea and submerging myself. To depict the feeling of distortion of reality, I use the sound of waves, whales, and a lot of deep murmurs. At first, these sounds about the sea are in my mind, but eventually, after I arrive at the shore, they overlap with the real sea wave. And the final Siren voice, I don’t know the meaning of that, to be honest, and it can simply mean nothing. Audiences may have their own interpretations.
