I am currently a postdoc at Stanford University. I am advised by Prof. Andrea Montanari and Prof. David Donoho. My research interest includes deep learning theory, high-dimensional statistics, and optimization. Prior to this, I obtained my PhD in 2019 from Princeton University, where I was advised by Prof. Jianqing Fan. I received my B.S. in mathematics from Peking University in 2014.

My research interests include

  • Deep Learning Theory

  • High Dimensional Statistics

  • Nonconvex Optimization

I am currently in the Collaboration on the Theoretical Foundations of Deep Learning

Several other topics I have worked on:

  • Spectral methods, PCA and factor models

  • Statistical networks, matrix completion and synchronization problems

  • Nonconvex optimization and SDP relaxation

  • Eigenvector perturbation analysis, entrywise/ell_infty bounds

  • Aggregation methods, generalized method of moments

  • Analysis of neural networks
