| Comments: | M31 is the largest of the Local Group of galaxies that include our own Milky Way. It is about 2.5 million light-years away and contains a trillion stars. It is hugh - its long axis spans about 3 degrees in the sky, or 6 times the diameter of a full moon! One of my early serious attempts in astrophotography - just go to show that this galaxy is so bright and large that it can look impressive despite imperfect technique. |
