| Comments: | 180 mm focal length is really a bit short for this object. The galaxy measures only 200x350 pixels in the original 6MP image. But, with dark sky, it is remarkable what a little lens can show. M33 is about 2.6 million light-years away. It belongs to the Local Group of galaxies along with our own Milky Way and the great Andromeda galaxy. It is average in size though it is small compared to its two better known neighbors. |
