Huggins Award by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, which was established in 2009 by the Huggins family on the occasion of Professor Huggins 80th birthday. The first Happy Hour of the group in the first week of Spring quarter! An electrica piano keyboard, and a guitar joined. A new card game, as mysterious as usual, was played. And yes, Sevahn has a bright smile. The PI just realized that it has been a long time since he plays table tennis last time.

Wes, Huada, and Xian attended the APS march meeting presenting their researches in Boston. Wes talked about the force field parameterization of PEDOT:PSS. Huada talked about the dielectric virial expansion for nano-particle composite. Xian talked about coarse-grained modeling of lithium dendrite growth near lithium anode, which he was working on with Paul. Jian attended too, and presented Sean's research on complexation of homologous polyions.

Sometimes beer die is not enough. You just have to be in Devil Canyon Brewing to get a byte of band. It is weird that Wes and Sean are absent from the brewery. Time stops when kids and dogs are listening quietly.

ACS-Macro Editor Tim Lodge kickstarts 50th Anniversary celebrations for Macromolecules during the ACS annual spring meeting in San Francisco which Jian attended on Sunday March 2. The canonical phase diagram produced by Ludwik Leibler in 1980 was highlighted in Tim's talk.

Kevin and Jian attend the APS march meeting, 2017, in New Orleans. Kevin presented a poster on his work related to the phase diagram of salt-doped diblock copolymers. Jian, who unfortunately only showed up on Wednesday and Thursday, gave an oral presentation on how charge connectivity changes the polyelectrolyte complexation behavior. It is exciting. Great to meet all the colleagues and to mingle with people sharing the same passion about polymer and physics.
