EE 378 B : Prerequisites

The following background knowledge is required:

  • Basic probability (at the level of MATH 151 or STAT 116). In particular knowledge of elementary inequalities (Markov, Chebyshev, Hoeffding), law of large numbers, central limit theorem.

  • Basic linear algebra (at the level of EE 263). In particular, knowledge of singular value decomposition and its properties.

  • Analysis (at the level of MATH 171)

Further

  • Some homeworks will require writing proofs.

  • Some homeworks will require use one programming language (eg Python or R or Matlab or C or C++ or …).

Finally, EE 378 A might be beneficial but is not required.
