Clinical History

A 30-year-old woman presents with pain in the left knee.

Imaging

To view the medical images, select one of the following:
  • Whole-Body 18F- Scan (Hint: The 18F- PET scan shows intense uptake of 18F- in the left knee, consistent with reactive bone, nonspecific for trauma or tumor. No other foci are seen.)
  • FDG-PET (Hint: The FDG-PET scan reveals intense uptake of FDG in both the bone and soft tissue. No other foci are seen.)
  • MRI Scan of the Knee
  • Diagnosis

    Select a reading when you are ready to solve the case.
  • Normal study
  • Results consistent with treated condition; no current abnormalities
  • Results are highly suspicious for presence of tumor
