Drug Delivery System:

It is a system that delivers drugs to the parts of the body which are diseased for the therapeutic purposes. Not only does it deliver the drugs to the necessary locations it must ensure that they are released when needed. The system itself does not provide the healing effect it only serves to safely carry the drug which shall repair the body. Conventional drug delivery systems such as pills or injections rely largely on the body to transport drugs. Using nanoparticles will improve the efficiency of delivery and minimize the side effects.

Smart Drugs

These are nanomaterials which become active inside cells only when an infection invades.

Nanosystems

It takes benefit from microchip based devices that dump nanolitres of drugs from reservoirs.

Bioadhesion

The bioadhesive molecule attaches to the cell membrane it secretes the drugs inside from where it is transported within the cell.

Hydro Gels

Nanocomposite hydro gels upon heating can release the drugs they encapsulate.

Magnetics
  •        Usually consists of magnetic fluids which bind with and concentrate the drugs at the site
  •        of their delivery
