About us

Riverrun (the first and last word of James Joyce's Finnegans Wake) is a tax exempt educational organization providing cultural programming to the Western New York community. Its purpose is to enhance the education of the community through the presentation of arts, cultural and social programs, especially those addressing Irish-American issues. Riverrun places special emphasis on the development of partnerships with universities and colleges in the WNY region, to bring the resources of these institutions to the general public. Riverrun has collaborated in many programs with the State University of NY at Buffalo, Buffalo State College, and Canisius College, among others, and has brought speakers from around the world to Buffalo (including speakers from Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Peru, Mexico, France and from throughout the United States). Riverrun seeks to foster the avant-garde traditions of the Buffalo intellectual and arts community.
