I have a one way plane ticket to Seattle, a 14 year old Bianchi racing bike, a 2002 BOB Yak Trailer, a 3 pound tent, 2 pound sleeping bag, and 1 pound inflatable pad. And two weeks to get back home.

I didn't do much training, but I went on a few rides this summer: one 70 mile, one 60 mile, one 45 mile, and several other random shorter rides. And most of those were in the past 30 days.

I will begin my tour with the Seattle to Portland Classic 2002 ride. 100 miles on Saturday, then 100 miles again on Sunday. Then a one day rest in Portland. Next I'll go straight to the coast on highway 26. That will be about a 85 mile ride. From there I have about 400 miles of Oregon coast, then about another 400 miles of California coast until I'm back home in San Francisco.

Update: trip has been completed. Total milage was 1,120 miles over 14 days of cycling -- an average of 80 miles per day. The day with the most milage was day 2 with 115 miles. I had two other 100 mile days, and a couple of 90 mile days.
