The midterm is on Tuesday, May 9th, which is before the date when this problem set is due. All of these problems, except problem 8, are good practice and cover material that is fair game for the midterm.

Note: since parts of this pset are new there may be questions or issues that come up. We will keep a list of them here.

  • Update to problem 10: I had failed to specify that the prior belief (the belief held before observing the email) is that the email was equally likely to have been written by person A and person B. The question was updated on May 5th at 3pm.
