Responsibilities

Research Mentor

  • Welcome student to lab meetings (confirm with faculty advisor)
  • Weekly meeting with your student(s) for about 30 minutes
  • Provide students with a point of contact for their technical questions who is available between weekly meetings.
  • Empower students who are often marginalized/excluded
  • Make students feel empowered and good about their work!

CS197C team

  • CS197 lecture: Will teach students the basics of research in CS and help them start work on their projects.
  • Weekly small group meetings with Lauren or Sean about 30 minutes:
    • Groups of 2 students on similar projects
    • Goal setting and meeting goals
    • Keeping on top of their logs
    • Communication with you
    • General technical support (e.g., Git, basic programming questions)
  • Grading
