Thoughts About Reading One

  • The reading was a great synopsis of my entire undergraduate education major - a great reminder of the basics in learning theory.

  • Although based on most of the major research findings in the field of education, the author assumes a certain posture the leans toward a more progressive philosophy. Although I agree with it on whole, it neglects other positions that are more conservative or culturally-tailored.

  • The short design primer was a nice demonstration of the thought necessary to employ in successful design, namely, to start with the user.

Deb Kim "Thank you Jason for sharing your reflections on our first set of readings. I appreciated your thoughts on the dominant perspective on learning theories, and hope that you'll continue to listen in class for when we attempt to bring in other ways of knowing and displaying knowledge. I think you'll appreciate the Michalchik reading and hope you'll continue to share more conservative or culturally-tailored perspectives as you did with Dewey."
