The midterm will be held during class time on October 31. It is 80 minutes. It will cover material up to and including the lecture of October 24.
Depending on your last name, you will go to a different room:
You are allowed to bring one double-sided letter-sized sheet of handwritten notes. It is fine to handwrite the notes on a tablet and print them out, but the notes must be the same size as your regular handwriting; you are not permitted to digitally rescale the notes to fit more than one sheet of notes on a single page. You will hand in this sheet of notes with your exam.
This course is participating in the proctoring pilot. There will be proctors in the room who will be checking IDs, so please bring your student ID. No one will be permitted to leave the room for the first 30 minutes or last 20 minutes, so please be prepared.
Here is a practice midterm with solutions, which is similar in format to the actual midterm. However, you should also study examples from lectures and the assignments.
The final exam is optional and will be held during class time in the usual classroom (Shriram 104) on Wednesday, December 3. It is 80 minutes. It will cover material up to and including the lecture of November 21.
If you plan to take this exam, please fill out this form by Monday, December 1 at noon.
