Bay Area Science Fair Outreach

SPC members hit one out of the ball park on Saturday, Nov. 2nd with polymer materials outreach at the Bay Area science fair. At the club level of Oracle park, we showed teens and their parents the artistic and industrial potential of polymers by making calcium alginate gels and decorating Shrinky Dinks. About 30,000 people passed through the fair, and a fair number of them stopped at our table. For folks interested in these events, you can find SPC outreach at Stanford Splash classes, future iterations of BASF, and other local science events.
