Lake Angela is near Donner Summit, but it is not on the railroad. Even if the view was not blocked by the peaks and ridges in the area, the travelers were inside Tunnel No. 6 at this location. Travelers could have visited this lake if they disembarked at Summit Station and stayed at the Summit House.
