Railroaded

Hart’s photograph captures a train that has stopped. A woman in white skirts has disembarked and there is a man on horseback as well as a girl beside the track. The land in the 1860s was apparently pasture since there appears to be a fence is visible in the background.

 

Today the forest has returned.
