Edward George Kunde (Sonny)4, born
March 17, 1927 in Yuba City, Sutter County, California, the son of
Edward Gustaf Kunde(3) and
Hazel Lillian (Baker) Kunde.
In World War II Edward served in the Navy as a SeaBee, and spent time in the Pacific as an equipment operator and driver. Edward may be the "Edward G. Kunde", driver, shown as residing at 429 Wilbur Avenue, Yuba City in the Marysville-Yuba City directory for 1946, but it is uncertain whether this reference was him or his father. Edward married, — –, 194– in —, Patricia Marie Dyer. She was born March 11, 1931, in Henryetta, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, the daughter of — Dyer and — (Jennings) Dyer. She attended schools in the Yuba-Sutter area and graduated from Yuba City Union High School after her marriage, on June 11, 1948. Children: The Kundes resided in a number of locations in Yuba City between 1948 and 1953. They were living in a house at 366 Woodbridge Avenue in 1948, one at 444 Emerson in 1950, and another one at 730 B in 1953.Edward’s occupation was driver from at least 1948 through 1978. No employer is shown in 1948. In 1950 he was employed by Associated Transportation Company, 442 B, Yuba City. Patricia was an attendant at Marysville Clinic, 725 4th, Marysville in 1953. In 1953 they moved to West Sacramento, Yolo County, California, and in 1954 purchased a house there at 1165 Clarendon Avenue, where they afterwards resided. During their residence there Edward became a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8762 of West Sacramento. Pat was a member of the post’s Ladies Auxiliary. From at least 1953 through 1978 Edward worked for Petroleum Tank Lines. Pat was working for the Victor Equipment Company, welding equipment, 1901 8th, Sacramento, in 1960, and continued to do so through at least 1969. Her occupation was given as clerk in 1960, office clerk from 1961 through at least 1965, and office manager in 1968 and 1969. In 1969 the name of the firm had been changed to Victor California. Edward's last residence was West Sacramento, Yolo County, California. He died January 12, 1992 at the age of 64, at his residence. Services were held January 16, 1992 at Hutchison & Carnes Colonial Chapel, Marysville, California. The Rev. Wayne Vincent of the Loma Rica Community Church officiated at the services. Burial followed at Sierra View Memorial Park, Marysville, California. Pat continued to reside in the Clarendon Avenue house for the remainder of her life. In December, 1996 she retired from Sierra Air Gas, with which she was an office clerk, after 42 years. It was apparently the successor firm of Victor California. After her retirement she joined the V.I.P. program with the West Sacramento Police Department, in which she was very active. Pat’s last residence was West Sacramento, Yolo County, California. She died November 3, 1999, at the age of 68. She was survived by her son, two grandchildren and two great-grandsons. A chapel service was held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, November 8, 1999 at Hutchinson & Carnes Colonial Chapel, Marysville. Interment was beside her husband at Sierra View Memorial Park, Marysville. |
