Florence Matilda Wenisch3, born June 7, 1886 in Brooklyn, Kings County, New York, the daughter of John A— Wenisch and Margaret A— (Traudt) Wenisch2.

She married, Wednesday, June 3, 1914, at her aunt Laura Metz’s home at 253 Clinton Avenue, Brooklyn, New York, Dr. George Francis Hoch of Newark, New Jersey. Their engagement had been announced June 29, 1912. George was born November 14, 1885 in Newark, Essex County, New Jersey, the son of John W— Hoch and Pauline M— (Bessom) Hoch.

Children:

  1. Eugene L— Hoch, born July 16, 1920 in —, New York.
George received his M.D. at Cornell University in 1910. He was a urologist, serving at St. Luke’s Hospital starting in 1919, and a member of the staff there from 1922. He was later the director of the urological service at St. Luke’s and a diplomate of the American Board of Urology.

In 1943 the Hochs were living in Brooklyn. In 1947, when Florence’s uncle Oscar Traudt died, she resided at 15 East 16th Street, Brooklyn, New York.

In 1966 the Hochs lived at 1901 Dorchester Road, Brooklyn. George’s urological practice was then at 115 East 61st Street, New York.

George Hoch died on Tuesday, February 22, 1966, at the age of 80, at St. Luke’s Hospital, New York, New York. A service was held at St. Luke’s Hospital Chapel, Amsterdam Ave. at 113th Street, on Friday, February 25, 1966 at 2:00 P.M. He was survived by his wife and son, his sister Mrs. Flora Sachs, and three grandchildren. Interment was in the Traudt family section of Woodland Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey. His grave marker bears the following inscription:

Florence died on Friday, October 2, 1970. Her last residence was in Rye, Westchester, New York. The service was at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 6, 1970 at the Morehead Funeral Home, 152 E. 74th Street, New York. She was survived by her son, grandchildren Judy, James and Nancy Hoch, and brother Eugene Wenisch. Interment was in the Traudt family section of Woodland Cemetery in Newark, New Jersey. Her grave marker bears the following inscription:
