Homework:
1. Meeting. Review the video of your introduction. If you have other writing, be sure to send that ahead.
2. Write the answers to the exercises in Lesson 7: 7.1 (2, 6, 12); 7.4 (4)
3. Find two example introductions: one that you think is particularly good and another that you think has some problems. Bring printed copies of both in for your classmates to read--don't indicate which is which.
4. Finding presentation techniques to copy: do the following.
1) Find an example of a speaker online (https://www.ted.com/; https://ecorner.stanford.edu; other) who has one or more characteristics you would like to incorporate into your own speaking.
2) Come prepared next week to present and discuss your example briefly, explaining the element(s) that you find worthy of emulating (send me the URL of the clip by Monday at 8:00 pm). Phil's example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLkC7ralR30
3) Then, take a 2 minute selection from any previous or future talk in which you demonstrate one or two techniques or stylistic points picked up from that speaker.
