These are before and after fixer application images of a charcoal self portrait I did in mid February
2013. I used a subtraction technique, (something I'd never tried before), and the results I'm
only marginally happy with. The method makes it difficult to achieve clear highlights, and
tends towards being too dark overall. Applying fixer exacerbates the darkness issue, changing
the image from just a bit too dark to something more walking dead in nature...
