Romain Speciel

I am in the final year of my Ph.D. at Stanford, advised by Rafe Mazzeo. My research lies at the intersection of spectral geometry, microlocal analysis, and inverse problems. More specifically, I seek to understand how the algebraic structure of spectral data reflects geometric rigidity. I am currently applying for academic jobs in the 2026–2027 cycle (CV). Beyond research, I read and write, swim and spend time outside, and use my phone as little as possible. And here is some press about me!
