Are you a high school student running an elementary school-level math or science club, or have you ever thought about starting one? Welcome to Science Club Commons, a central site for high school students running elementary-school math and science clubs to share resources and ideas with like-minded peers!

  • Starting a club: For those interested in starting a math or science club for the first time, this section offers a guide to the fundamentals: how to find a school, how to actually "start" the club, how to attract students, and suggestions for club operation.
  • Club Matching: Do you want to start an elementary school club, but don't know where? This resource will connect you with local elementary school teachers in your area who are willing to host a club, making starting a club quick and easy!
  • Resource Share: One of the most important parts of sustaining a successful club is developing a curriculum that is coherent, level-appropriate, and most of all, engaging.  This share feature invites you to check out and download worksheets, activities, and other club-related materials that others have developed, and to post creations of your own.
  • Forum: The best way to get questions answered or obtain useful advice is to talk with others who have been in your shoes, or who have had similar experiences.  This forum will connect you with high school students from all over the country who are pursuing similar projects, and enable you to discuss and exchange ideas.
  • Club Highlight: Come check out what other clubs have been up to, and get inspiration for your own - a new club is highlighted every month! Also, find out how your club can be featured in this section!

06/06/08: Many updates have been made to the site over the past few days. Science Club Commons has been re-designed to accomodate an increased number of features and pages, and content has been updated on nearly every page. The site has been submitted as a CS73N final assignment, but many features and additions are still in the works, so keep checking back!

4/25/08: Basic site infrastructure has been set up, and content has been added to the "Starting a Club" and "Club Highlight" sections.

4/25/08: CS73N Assignments page has been created containing all assignments completed for the class. (Assignment material may appear elsewhere in the site; this page just contains links to all of them for ease of viewing.)
