Twice a year, the EERI Stanford Student Chapter teach a class during Splash! at Stanford.
In Spring 2014, the class "E3611: Introduction to Earthquake Engineering" was taught to middle and high school students. The class covered the basic physics behind structural earthquake engineering design; the focus was on explaining concepts through demonstrations.
eDay
On July 16, 2011, members of Stanford EERI participated in the School of Engineering's eDay, an annual event featuring "classes" taught by engineering faculty, demonstrations, and hands-on activities for engineers from age 10 and up. Videos of shake table tests and a model of an innovative structural system which allows rocking motion were some of the items on display at the EERI table.
