My Favorite Characters List

10/10 - Donquixote Doflamingo

Name of Show: One Piece

Activity: 1999 - Present

Alias: Joker

Backstory: He was a born into a noble family which he really enjoyed being a noble and looking down on middle/low-class citizens. Until one day his father grew tired of living the noble life and moved with the middle and low class citizens, so that he can live freely and not have to look down on anyone. However, Doflamingo didn't like this new life style and grew tired of it quickly. He ended up slowly hating his father, and the middle/low class people also weren't a big fan of the noble blood line. A riot ended up sparking and Doflamingo and his family experienced real truama. After being hung to a building and later on killing his father, he then gathered his own family with the intention of destroying the world that the nobles rule over.

Liking: The reason I grew a liking to Doflamingo is because he plays the role antagonist very well. He was has fame(being king of Dressrosa), titles (Seven Warlords of the Sea), wealth, and tons of power. He is the most influential underworld broker in One Piece and goes by code name Joker. He is partnered with one of the four emperors of the sea, Kaido. As we plans to help Kaido as they both share a common goal in destorying the world. So with all of these reasons being said, I feel like it was highly needed for me to put Doflamingo onto my top 10 list.

9/10 - Johan Liebert

Name of Show: Monster

Activity: 2004 - 2010

Alias: The Nameless Monster and The Devil

Backstory: Early in Johan's life, he and his twin sister were born from an experiance led by his paternal uncle. The the goal of this experiment was to make a child with high intelligence that can lead the human race. This place was called 511 Kinderheim and later on when he and his sister escaped. Johan was shot in the head by his sister for killing the people they were living with. His life when saved from a docter by the name of Dr. Tenma and then the story begins.

Liking: The reason why I liked Johan was because of how smart and devious he was. He knows how to blend in with the crowd and is someone you never would've thought was a serial killer if you'd met. He can appear to be very joyful and ambitious but on the inside he is truly a Monster. He is very manipulative and puts the detectives that is after him in loops by leaving them messages that are hard to comprehend. He is a prodigy at almost everything he does and studies law in school. He's always up to something but is too smart for the people who want to hunt him down or that want to work for him. The only person that he'll let take his life is the docter who saved his life.

8/10 - Orochimaru

Name of Show: Naruto, Naruto Shippuden, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

Activity: Naruto (2002 - 2007), Naruto Shippuden (2007 - 2017), Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (2017 - Present)

Alias: Lord Orochimaru, The Giant Snake, and The Snake Sannin

Backstory: His backstory was never really focus on, or atleast from what I know. However, what I do know is that at his parents were killed in a war fighting for the Hidden Leaf Village. So from then he became an orphan who became a student for Hiruzen(3rd Hokage) along side with Jiraiya, and Tsunade. He was also a prodigy and was highly intelligent when it came to school. According to Tsunade, Orochimaru had a very twisted personality. His sadistic attutide was due to the death of his parents.

Liking: The reason why I liked Orochimaru is because he served the role Antagonist very well during the Naruto series. He always had a plan and took major precautions before executing them. He is incredibly hard to kill due to his cleverness and ability to be able to think quickly in split decision choices. He has some really good fights throughout the series taking on: Hiruzen, The 4th Kazekage, Jiraiya, Tsunade, Sasori, and even Itachi. He always has some trick up his sleeve, which is why I wanted to see his plan for taking down the Hidden Leaf Village and the Akatsuki. Even though he failed at it, he still did a pretty impressive job for someone that was basically the only reliable person in his organization.

7/10 - Sosuke Aizen

Name of Show: Bleach

Activity: 2004 - 2012

Alias: Captian Aizen, Lord Aizen

Backstory: His backstory was never really dived into deeply. From what I know Aizen was born in the Soul Society and attended the shinigami academy. He had a large amount of potential growing up, in terms of IQ and combat skills. When he was a vice-captian for the Soul Society his master plan led four members of the Gotei 13 nearly dead. He was also able to hide his tracks perfectly well by not leaving any evidence and getting Kisuke Urahara banned from the Soul Society. He then later became promoted to Captain and continued to decieve everyone in the Soul Society, until he later went on and showed his true colors when he betrayed all of the Soul Society.

Liking: Now Aizen in my opinion is one of best antagonists I ever seen. Starting off with the series of Bleach until when him and Ichigo Kurosaki fought. He had planned all of ichigo's fights and purposely planned them knowing that Ichigo would get stronger from these fights. The fact that he planned out the main characters life flawlessly is a big feat for me. This is the first time I ever seen something like that in anime. Not to mention he was so strong that he was able to form one of my favorite organizations known as the 'Espada', with the hopes of taking down the Gotei 13. So that he can get the Muken and go to the Soul Palace and take down the Soul King.

6/10 - Anti-Spiral

Name of Show: Gurren Lagann

Activity: 2007

Alias: Anti-Sprial King

Backstory: Long ago the Anti-Spirals were an incredibly advanced humaniod race. They were very knowledgable of the laws of the universe, allowing them to manipulate the universe as they see fit and become god-like. However, having that kind of knowledge soon became troublesome as they learned about the Spiral Nemisis. The Spiral Nemisis is a black hole sort of entity that is capable of destroying the universe if it contained enough spiral energy, the energy of willpower and evolution. So to deal with this the Anti-Spiral race came together and sealed their own evolution, sealing their bodies in their planet. They would only interact with the universe through one entity, which consisted of the embodiment of their collective consciousness, otherwise known as the Anti-Spiral.

Liking: Although the backstory might seem boring, the reason I like him might be even more boring. The reason I like the Anti-Sprial is because he was the first exposure of a truly divine-like being I experienced in anime. Not just anyone like Goku or Kaguya from Naruto, but even higher. I would see people put him in gaunlets and talk about how powerful he is and when I looked him up, he ranked very high on the powerlevel scale. He scaled at High 1-C , in other words complex multiverse level to hyperverse level. So watching how he performed in the show was nice even though it was only two episodes. Just seeing that kind of complicated powers that I havent seen before was enough for me to add him to this list. He's still my favorite divine-like figure in all of anime.

5/10 - Lelouch Lamperouge

Name of Show: Code Geass

Activity: 2006 - 2007

Alias: Zero

Backstory: When Lelouch was just a kid he was lived in Japan, also known as Area 11. One day the Britannian empire also hosted an invasion unto Area 11 and began a massacre. After seeing this, Lelouch only being a child he vows that he'll get his revenge and take down Britannia.

Liking: What made me grab a liking to Lelouch was how well he stood out in terms of his character build. He's very smart and one of the smartest anime characters voted amongst the anime community. I like how he started off with only around 5 people to leading a whole nation with allies to take down Britannia. He has a very interesting change of character in the series too. He went from being good, to becoming more like an antagonist, to back to being good. It's pretty complicated and I don't even know if I explained it well. He is also a chess master and uses his tactics to take down his enemies during battle.

4/10 - Shunsui Kyoraku

Name of Show: Bleach

Activity: 2004 - 2012

Alias: Captain Kyoraku and Captain-Commander Kyoraku

Backstory: Growing up Shunsui was a prodigy in school along side his friend Jushiro Ukitake in the Soul Reaper Academy. He had an older brother that fell in love with Nanao Ise's older sister (Nanao is Shunsui's future lieutenant). There was rumor that went around if you fell in lvoe with someone in the Ise Clan then you wont be able to live very long. Knowing this Shunsui's brother still fell inlove with the lady and later ended dying. He was trusted with hairpins that his brother has that he now wears in his hair. Soon later on, his brother's wife ended up dying and she then gave Shunsui her pink kimino. Shunsui also made a vow to protect her younger sister known as Nanao Ise.

Liking: One of the main reasons I grew a liking to Shunsui was because of his chill and laid back personality. Normally when it comes to anime the characters that are very calm and laid back are the ones that are very powerful. Shunsui prefers to have a drink with his opponents and chat with them rather than fight them. However, he will attack his opponent and fight if he is needed to and is being relied on. I like how un-predictable he is when it comes to fights. He'll use under-handed tactics to injure his opponents but doesnt care because the way how he sees it, "The moment you start a fight, you are wrong in either way.". This applies for both sides of the war.

3/10 - Kisaki Tetta

Name of Show: Tokyo Revengers

Activity: 2021 - Present

Alias: N/A

Backstory: When Kisaki was younger he was anti-social. He never really spoke but did very well in school. The first friend that he made was Tachibana Hinata, in cram school. He was a very shy kid and was very different as he wasn't playful like the other kids. However, he enjoyed Tachibana Hinata's company and began falling in love with her. One day when Hinata was getting ganged up on from multiple school boys that were going to fight her, this boy named Hanagaki Takimichi ended up taking the beating for Hinata. Long story short Kisaki ends up idolizing Takimichi after Hinata falls in-love with him. He hears that Hinata likes bad boys and Kisaki later on finds his goal in life to get Hinata to fall in-love with him.

Liking: When I was first watching Tokyo Revengers I grew a liking to Kisaki because the way how he was introduced. When Takimichi turns on the news and finds out about his highschool crush, Tachibana Hinata dying from gang violence, Kisaki Tetta was the man that was behind the killing of Hinata. When Kisaki was introduced he was already the most dangerous gangster in Tokyo. He was so feared that other gangsters rather die than to deal with his cruel ways. He even had Mikey under his control at the time. These reasons made me like the show alot and even Kisaki, I even began reading the manga for it because I couldn't wait for a season 2.

2/10 - Monkey D. Luffy

Name of Show: One Piece

Activity: 1999 - Present

Alias: Straw Hat Luffy, Luffy-taro, and Straw Hat

Backstory: Born in the east blue, Luffy sets out to sea to become King of the Pirates after being inspired by a strong pirate by the name of Red Haired Shanks. He was raised by a another pirate named Curly Dadan, and there was where he met these two boys that he'll soon become brothers with. The boys names were Ace and Sabo, all of whom grown up together and have an unbreakable bond.

Liking: I began loving Luffy after the first episode I seen of One Piece. Throughout the story you grow a deep connection with the characters and Luffy is definitely one of them. He is a goofy, strong-willed and inspirational character. One of my favorite Luffy moments that made me really like him was when he decided to help out Nami even after she kept telling him not to and even stole his ship. It showed me how he will always have his friends back and take on whatever problems that they're facing together. This is the reason why Luffy is arguably my favorite character of all time.

1/10 - Jotaro Kujo

Name of Show: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Activity: 2012 - Present

Alias: Jojo

Backstory: Growing up, Jotaro had a pretty normal life with no troubles. He did very well in school and loved loved his family. He did great in school and was on the track team. However, once puberty hit Jotaro he began becoming more of a delinquent. He began skipping school, disrespecting his mother, and getting into physical fights and even beating up a teacher that was talking down him. Even though he is a delinquent he still cares very much for his family and would even go through great measures to make sure they're okay. Which is why he took on DIO in a dangerous fight to save his mothers life at the end of stardust crusaders.

Liking: The reason why Jotaro Kujo is currently my favorite anime character is due to how cool I find him to be. Jotaro is very badass and extremely smart, he doesn't like to show his emotions and doesn't let his emotions get the best of him. He knows how to keep cool in tough situations and strictly thinks before he acts. It's like when Jotaro is with you in a sitaution, at first he wont do anything, he'll just observe what everyone is doing and take mental notes. From there he'll find a way around it and jump in when he notices when his help is needed, and gets the job done. Him being very hard boiled is what makes him very cool as a main character.
