The Frying Pan(1934)
The frying pan is known as one of the first commercially successful electric guitars built in 1934.
This guitar was designed by George Beauchamp and manufactured by Rickenbacker. This guitar was named
the frying pan after its odd shape.
The Les Paul Log(1941)
The Les paul log was the first solid body electric guitar. The Les Paul log was a piece of solid pine
in which he attached a Gibson neck, homemade pickups, a crudely fashioned bridge and a vibrato tailpiece.
Paul later added the curved sides to help it look more like a real guitar.
Fender Broadcaster(1952)
The broadcaster also known as the Telecaster was a two-pickup solid body guitar that was able to reach
high stage columns with no feedback problems unlike hollow body guitars of the time. Leo Fender wanted a practical electric guitar. The broadcaster was easy to repair,
simple and convenient for all musicians.
Gibson Les Paul(1952)
The Gibson Les paul was the first solid body guitar to be produced by the Gibson Company
It was created after Fender showed the benefits of a solid body guitar with the Broadcaster. Gibson
reached out to Les paul and asked him to design it after turning him down years ago with his log.
Fender Stratocaster
The Fender Stratocaster is probably the first image that pops in your head when someone says electric guitar.
This guitar had not one or two but three pickups. The strat also had a curved body that was simple and comfortable to use.
It was also lighter and had a new bridge that produced a beautiful vibrato.
