Exams

There are two midterms, which will be held during class time.

Exam 1

Exam 1 will be held during class time on Wednesday, January 28 in Hewlett 201 (not the usual classroom!). OAE students should be on the lookout for an e-mail about where to be.

You will not be allowed to leave the room after the exam begins, so please use the bathroom before the exam, bring water, etc.

It will cover methods for summarizing and visualizing tabular data. All material up to January 22 is fair game.

You are allowed to bring one double-sided letter-sized sheet of handwritten notes. You may not use a computer to prepare these notes. The only exception is that it is fine to handwrite the notes on a tablet and print them out, but the notes must be the same size as your regular handwriting; you are not permitted to digitally rescale the notes to fit more than one sheet of notes on a single page. You will hand in this sheet of notes with your exam.

  • Data Documentation: We have restricted to juvenile, teen, adult, and senior patrons in four libraries: Chinatown, Mission, Richmond, and Sunset. We have also removed the "Notice Preference" and "Within San Francisco County" columns to save space because they are uninformative.
