STANFORD SMARTGRID SEMINAR

New lecture series beginning fall quarter of 2013

Our speakers will discuss exciting new ideas and technologies that are changing the electricity industry. The theme of the seminar is on optimizing transmission and distribution systems, including new energy resources like distributed generation, energy storage, deferrable demand and intermittent renewable power. The hour-long seminars, including ample time for discussion, are held at 1 p.m. approximately every other Thursday.

This seminar is offered as a 1-2 unit course CEE 272T for interested students. The course includes a bi-weekly preparatory discussion on a topic related to smart grid technology and research.

The SmartGrid Seminar organizing researchers are: Prof. Ram Rajagopal, Civil & Environmental Engineering; Professors Andrea Goldsmith and Stephen Harris, Electrical Engineering; Baosen Zhang, postdoctoral scholar, Civil & Environmental Engineering and Management Science & Engineering; and Yue Zhao, postdoctoral scholar, Electrical Engineering.
